Switzerland ranks top in the last international rankings
Quality of live and global competitivity still make Switzerland extremely attractive
Once again, Zurich and Geneva are among the top 10 most liveable cities, even if they both fall back a few ranks. According to the ranking compiled by the research unit of the British weekly The Economist, Zurich and Geneva stand out among 172 cities evaluated according to some 30 qualitative and quantitative criteria, including stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.
In terms of global competitiveness, Switzerland slips to 3rd place behind Denmark and Ireland in the IMD Global Competitiveness Ranking 2023. However, Switzerland remains first for government efficiency and infrastructure, ranks seventh for business efficiency (going down) and improves on its 2022 ranking for economic performance.
