Geneva offers a very safe and reliable public transport network, named TPG.

The Leman Express train line is a recent addition to this network. It connects France and Switzerland around the Lake Geneva region. In the center, it connects Cornavin station, Lancy Pont-Rouge, Carouge, Champel and Eaux-Vives stations.

Your TPG ticket also entitles you to take the yellow “Mouettes genevoises” boats across the lake.

Trains
Train is a reliable and comfortable option to travel around Switzerland. As an example, you may reach Lausanne in 35 minutes with very frequent trains. CFF annual season ticket offers valuable rebates if you travel regularly by train.

Car registering and driving licence
To import your car into Switzerland, you’ll need to pass a technical inspection at the Service des Automobiles and obtain your registration within 12 months of your arrival.

Parking options
- City center public parkings
- On-street paying parking spots in white zones: you need to pay at the nearest pay station by entering your license plate number.
- Short term on-street parking in blue zones with “disc”: free parking for up to 1 hour by indicating your arrival time on your disc. No extensions allowed!
- Long term parking in blue zones with annual “macaron” : unlimited parking in your neighborhood after paying an annual fee

Bikes
Geneva has developed a network of bicycle paths and opened a greenway along the Leman Express line.
